HOLLYWOOD, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/05/2005 -- Horizon Productions, Inc., producers of the highly successful Super Bowl Halftime alternative, alongside newly hired Lingerie Football League commissioner Dennis Rodman, announced this season's line-up and rule changes. Rodman vowed, "With my rule changes and surprises, Lingerie Bowl III will be the BIGGEST Super Bowl Party in the world!" Rodman has also extended an invitation to NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue to face-off the winner of Super Bowl XL against the winner of Lingerie Bowl III.

I only recently learned about the Lingerie Bowl - which is a surprise because my husband has a great love of football and women in lingerie, so I can't believe we have not watched it the last two years.

This year's event will feature William "Refrigerator" Perry, Jenny McCarthy, Cindy Margolis, Dennis Rodman, Willa Ford, Adrianne Curry, Trishelle Cannatella and American Idol's Ryann Starr and several big name surprise appearances and musical collaborations are expected soon.

The 25-minute game will run during the half-time of SuperBowl XL - let's just hope they do not have any wardrobe malfunctions where someone's Gazoo falls out of her top!

I think they are doing a great marketing job and I know even as a woman I would rather watch this than another twenty minutes of U2 or Paul McCartney or something b-o-r-i-n-g like that. I don't listen to popular music any more, so almost all of that would be lost on me - and older musicians usually just do not have performances that are relevant or matter to the people who enjoy the Super Bowl halftime. I watch the (usually) exciting first half of the game and then the half-time show is a huge anticlimax that I have a hard time recovering from to get excited about the second half. The Lingerie Bowl is something that will "get it up and keep it up" or at least give folks something to talk about if the second half of the Super Bowl does stink.

I do find myself wondering why they have female cheerleaders though. If male football players have sexy women to egg them on and encourage them then shouldn't the Lingerie Bowl teams have hot guys in short shorts shaking it?
